As Associate Vice Chancellor, Strong brings a management approach that embraces change while giving thoughtful consideration and respect for balancing auxiliary operations and institutional mission as he works with his team to develop and review major policies, procedures and services. Most importantly, he possesses an established credibility and rapport in working with higher education staffs and students, diversity of cultures, open lines of communication and collaboration; and building trust - through transparency, honesty, communications and actions.
He is married to Bernice Strong-King, an educator who has overseen student services at the high school and university level. They have two daughters, who reside in the Dallas/Fort Worth TX area.
When asked about what motivates him in his work, he replies, “The opportunity to nurture the minds, body and spirit of students who are destined to make unbelievably important contributions to the family of humankind is an honor, a blessing, and a significant challenge. In addition, my work allows me the opportunity to repay the debt I owe so many who gave me hope when I so desperately needed it.”
LeNorman is an avid reader and sports enthusiast who says, “I love all sports and am absolutely rotten at most of them!” He describes himself as a “frustrated baritone” who has directed choirs at his church and while in college. In addition, LeNorman loves to cook and fancies himself as the best Texas barbecue cook around. He warns students and his RSSP staff to look out for one of the many invitations he will send to them to enjoy a Texas barbecue at his home. |
