*Continuing UC Berkeley students receive a 10% discount on all Summer Sessions Housing rates. These rates will be reflected once you begin your application.

TOP 5 THINGS TO REMEMBER

1. All residents must be enrolled in a Summer Sessions course associated with the dates of their housing contract.

2. If you are a visiting student, final payments must be received prior to date of check-in.  If you are a full-time UC Berkeley student with an established CARS account, final payment amount may not be posted until after move-in date.  Please follow CARS payment guidelines.

3. Room assignments will not be finalized until day of check-in.  To receive your room assignment and keys, please visit the front desk of the Unit you are assigned.

4. To terminate your contract, please provide written correspondence (summerhousing@berkeley.edu) including your full name, 8-digit CalNet ID Number, and reason for termination.  Please also read Terms and Conditions for termination policy.

5. There is no deadline for submitting your application.  Housing is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Because space is limited, we recommend that you apply for housing early in order to ensure the best chance for you to secure a housing offer.


CHECKLIST

Newly Admitted Students (No CalNet ID Number)

  1. Register with UC Berkeley Summer Sessions Office
  2. Apply for housing
  3. Accept housing offer prior to the expiration date
  4. Pay $100.00 advance payment
  5. Pay remaining balance (must be received prior to check-in date)
  6. Check in
  7. Complete International Student Check-In (if you are visting California on an F-1 or J-1 student visa)
  8. Go to Cal 1 Card office to pick up Cal 1 Card (student ID card)

Full-time Students (With CalNet ID Number)

  1. Apply for housing
  2. Register Summer Sessions course(s)
  3. Accept housing offer prior to the expiration date
  4. Pay $100.00 advance payment
  5. Final payment made through CARS account (may not be posted until after check-in date)
  6. Check in
