Q: How do I make a reservation?
A: You may either submit a request online or you may call the Conference Services Office before June 1, 2012 at (510) 643-5529. Beginning June 1, 2012 through August 2012, you may call Summer Visitor Housing, seven days a week, at (510) 642-1676.

Q: Do I need to make a deposit to hold my reservation?
A: No, you do not need to pay at the time of reservation. You will be expected to pay in full upon arrival.

Q: What forms of payment does Summer Visitor Housing accept?
A: Cash, Traveler's Checks and Credit Cards (Visa, MasterCard and Discover)
SORRY - NO CHECKS ACCEPTED.

Q: What is the Cancellation Policy?
A: There is no financial penalty to cancel your reservation, but please be courteous and let us know as soon as possible if you will not be staying at Summer Visitor Housing.

Q: What time can I check-in?
A: Rooms are ready by 3:00 pm. Your reservation will automatically be held until 6:00 pm on your day of arrival. If you plan to arrive after 6:00 pm, please let us know.

Q: What is check-out time?
A: 12:00PM

Q: What are the Front Desk hours?
A: 7:00AM to 11:00PM daily. If you arrive between 11:00PM and 7:00AM or you need assistance during these hours, a staff person is on-call and can be reached by calling the Front Desk at 510-642-1676.

Q: What is included in the room?
A: Rooms are furnished with one or two single beds, linens, pillows, towels, soap, desk(s) and wardrobe(s).

Q: Are there private bathrooms?
A: Shared bathrooms with private toilets and showers are centrally located on each floor. There are no bedrooms with private bathrooms.

Q: Is there in-room computer access and internet connections?
A: Limited in-room internet connection will be available. Check with the front desk at the time of check-in for login and password.

Q: Can I eat in the Foothill Dining Facility?
A: Moderately price buffet style meals are available when the Foothill Dining Room is open. Information regarding dates of operation, hours and meal prices is available at the front desk.

Q: Is Stern Hall wheelchair accessible?
A: Yes, however if you need special accommodations or are in a wheelchair, please let us know when you reserve your room so that we can place you in the most convenient location.

Q: Are there cooking facilities?
A: No, we are sorry but there is no cooking facilities in Stern Hall. There is a microwave on each floor.

Q: Are there laundry facilities?
A: Yes, coin operated washers and dryers are located in the laundry room located on the first floor of Stern Hall. The current cost is $1.50 per wash and $0.50 for every 20 minutes of drying time (prices subject to change). Soap is not provided. Please note that the Front Desk has limited change and may not be able to provide coins for the machines.

Q: I am coming with my spouse and my child for a Campus tour. Can we get one room or do we need two?
A: You will need to reserve two rooms in order to accommodate three people. Please let us know at the time of reservation so that we may assign rooms next to one another.
