Mission Statement: Create an environment that fosters academic success, social growth and community development by providing secure, clean, attractive and comfortable facilities and by remaining actively responsive to all clientele. Activities: Housing Facilities Operations and Services is responsible for all front desk, custodial, grounds and maintenance operations in the residence halls and family, faculty and single student apartments. The front desk, which serves as the focal point of operations, handles the mailrooms (where applicable) as well as answers inquiries and collects and disseminates maintenance tags. Our custodial staff cleans all common areas in buildings and suites as well as rooms and apartments upon move out. The in-house maintenance staff handles all security and key activity plus minor repairs. We contract with campus facilities and outside vendors to provide skilled craft workers such as electricians, plumbers and heating system mechanics for services including elevator maintenance, fire alarm testing and repair. We do grounds clean up but contract with the campus to provide gardening services (except University Village which does all its own grounds operations). |
