These apartments are friendly, low-rise buildings of warm wood tones clustered around two south-facing courtyards. Primarily for juniors, seniors, and new transfer students, Channing Bowditch offers a peaceful setting that at the same time is just two blocks from campus. The majority of the units are double occupancy bedrooms in two bedroom, one bathroom apartments. There are 18 single occupancy spaces (6 in townhouses, 12 in four bedroom apartments) which will be assigned to students according to eligibility and their lottery number. All apartments are single-gender. Residents may prepare their own meals or purchase a Non-resident Meal Plan, or use your Cal 1 Card to enjoy Cal Dining's services at Crossroads, 1/2 block away.

Proposed rents for 2008 – 09 range between $899 and $1029 per month per person depending upon whether the unit is apartment or townhouse style and how many people are sharing the unit. Utilities are included. Phone services are provided by University Residence Telephone Services. Channing Bowditch does not include parking as it is within two blocks of campus.

Please note that living/dining and kitchen areas are considered University Common Space and may be subject to routine health and safety searches.


Leases
Leases will be offered for a 12 month period. Students requesting 12 month lease recieve priority over those requesting a lease for shorter time periods. Channing-Bowditch is considered “off campus” for budgetary purposes with the Financial Aid Office.
