Family Student Housing
University Village Apartments

General Information

Living in Family Student Housing is the perfect opportunity for students to enjoy all the benefits of an organized, family community. The University of California offers one Family Student Housing site named University Village (including East Village and West Village). Over the years, this site has become an active, supportive community for registered UC Berkeley students juggling family and educational responsibilities.

The University offers apartments for married, single-parent, and domestic partner student families in one location: University Village in Albany.Graduate students may apply early, even before notification of Berkeley admission, as there is a chronological waiting list; undergraduate students must wait to receive their CalNet information to apply. The waiting period varies depending on the type of apartment requested and the time of year.

Rental rates for Family Student Housing are very reasonable. University Village Apartments includes all utilities including, internet, basic cable, and 1 free parking space. Telephone service is not included in the rent. Rents are subject to an annual increase to cover operating and future construction costs. Each family will be assigned one parking space at the time of move in. For further information, choose any of the topics in the column on the right.
