Internet Access & Residential Computing
During your time in the residence halls, Residential Computing, or “ResComp,” will be your internet provider and technical support resource. To get set up with your Internet connection, you must attend a half-hour Cal Connect workshop during move-in. In this session, your friendly ResComp support staff will tell you about available tech support services as well as safe and smart computing on the campus network.
Printed schedules of the Cal Connect workshops will be included in your welcome packet as well as available online during move-in at www.rescomp.berkeley.edu.
ResComp provides both wireless network access and wired in-room connections. To connect to our wired network by plugging into a port in your room, you will need to bring an Ethernet cable as they are not provided.
Please note that you must attend a Cal Connect workshop in order to activate your internet connection!
For information on activating your in-room Internet connection after moving in, visit the Residential Computing website.
