The Office of Student Development is proud to present the new Residential Living website, which serves to showcase student life in Cal's distinct residential communities. Residential & Student Services Programs offers a unique environment conducive to leadership development and personal growth for students who live on–campus.

Learn about what life is like in the residence halls from students themselves! You will find personal accounts about every aspect of residential life, including studying and academics in the halls, getting along with roommates, organized (and spontaneous) activities, staying healthy in a residential environment, and much more.

Only At Berkeley

Cal students invented the college football tradition of card stunts. Then known as Bleacher Stunts, they were first performed during the 1910 Big Game and consisted of two stunts: a picture of the Stanford Axe and a large blue "C" on a white background. The tradition continues today in the Cal student section and incorporates complicated motions, for example Oski uprooting the Stanford tree during the Big Game.
