Life in the Residence Halls

Living in the residence halls is a new experience for many students. The adjustment process can be easy or difficult, but hopefully this information will help you to create realistic expectations of the amazing times that occur in the residences.

Listen to real students share their stories (both typical and strange) that have shaped their lives. Residents discuss what they do on a daily basis, from sharing bathrooms to participating in hall–organized sports/activities to studying in different areas of the buildings.

From perusing the personal stories of this diverse set of students, you will learn all the secrets to having a great time in the residential community!

Only At Berkeley

In the fall of 2007, Cal Dining has partnered with Blue Sky Bio-Fuels by providing grease and oil collected from Dining Halls. Blue Sky Bio-Fuels converts these waste materials to bio-diesel for the Oakland School District school buses and transport vehicles in the Bay Area through the Biofuels4Schools and the Clean Air for kids campaigns.
