Q: What was your first impression of Foothill?
A: Foothill reminds me of a lodge tucked away in the hills. The architecture of the building is reminiscent of a ski lodge, and the eucalyptus trees and animals add to the atmosphere.
Q: When you look out your window, what do you see?
A: The view of the Bay and the Campanile from my window is incredible. I can also see the stairs that go up to Building 7, where all kinds of shenanigans occur as people pass on the way up.
Q: What type of room do you live in? Who do you share your bathroom with?
A: My suite consists of four double rooms around a common area. Our rooms at Foothill are pretty sweet; they're a lot bigger than the ones in the high-rises (which, to me now that I'm spoiled by Foothill, feel like jail cells). We share a single-sex bathroom with several stalls, showers, and sinks. It's pretty nice, unless people don't clean up after themselves... girls tend to leave makeup and moisturizer around.
Q: What can residents do at Foothill in their free time?
A: My roommate and I like to hold movie nights on Fridays. People watch TV in the lounge and play pool in the rec room. When it's sunny and warm, a few people tan in the bathing suits on the little lawn or on the Stern deck.
Q: What places is Foothill close to?
A: We're near all the shops and restaurants on Euclid, the Greek Theater, Pimentel Hall, Memorial Stadium, Haas, and the International House. It's a really quick walk to any of those places.
Q: What makes Foothill unique?
A: It's just a great place to live if you prefer a low-key lifestyle. Foothill never gets crowded, which is something I love about it.
