Life at Unit 3 - Priestley
Greg, a freshman, is studying Molecular and Cell Biology at Berkeley. He is from Santa Maria in California's central coast. A member of various campus organizations, Greg also participates in Cal's capoeira (Brazilian martial arts and dance blend) group. In between club meetings, Greg finds it pretty convenient to run back to his room at Unit 3 to pick up his gear.

Q: How do you like Unit 3?
A: I can't imagine living anywhere other than Unit 3. The newly renovated buildings, brightly-lit hallways, and decorations that Hall Staff put up create a pretty welcoming atmosphere.

Q: What type of room do you live in? What is it like?
A: I live in a triple room, and while it's a little more cramped than the doubles, I still find it pretty spacious. It's not hard at all sharing a room with two other people. Our floor has a communal co-ed bathroom, which is cool because that's when I get to see my floormates during midterm season.

Q: Other than in bathrooms, do you often run into your floormates?
A: I hang out with them in the lounge on the ground floor. My friends and I like to play ping-pong, shoot pool, or play volleyball in the courtyard. It's really convenient to do all these things because the residence halls provide paddles, pool cues, and balls so that we don't have to bring our own.

Q: What else can residents do at Unit 3 in their free time?
A: Residents can also participate in all of the events that Hall Staff put on. I really liked the Ghost Walk in San Francisco because I learned a lot about the city from the awesome tour guide. RHA has organized several dances that I often go to as well. I'm pretty stoked about going to Boat Dance!

Q: What is your favorite thing about Unit 3?
A: Everyone knows that one of the best aspects of Unit 3 is its central location. Unit 3 is the closest residence hall to Sproul Plaza; I literally just roll out of bed five minutes before class and cross the street through Sather Lane to get to Lower Sproul. Also, all the bus routes stop on Durant and Telegraph, Berkeley's main intersection.
