- Interprets, clarifies, and verifies medical notes and restrictions.
- Counsels managers and employees on medical restrictions, accommodation, and fitness for duty.
- Analyzes, interprets, and makes recommendations on policy and contract issues related to all types of leaves of absence (including medical, personal, military, etc.) and medical issues including reasonable accommodation, rehabilitation, and medical separation.
- Monitors and reports on the status of employees on leave, facilitates return to work and medical and other forms of separation.
- Analyzes job duties, job descriptions, and PEM forms for essential functions and accommodation.
- Collaborates with Manager of Benefits, Accommodations, and Safety to review work-related injuries in order to identify trends and hazards, and reduce associated costs.
- Edits, writes, and develops articles for "The Grapevine."
- Writes and edits the RSSP Annual Human Resources Report as well as various departmental reports, publications, communications, correspondence, and strategic documents.
- Processes subpoenas and requests for information related to departmental employees.
