CalSO (Cal Student Orientation) welcomed incoming undergraduates and their guests to campus academic resources and student services. Transfer students attended a one-day program and freshmen attended a day and a half program. Students were grouped according to academic interest and were led by a CalSO counselor who had over 225 hours of training. The 2006 CalSO team consisted of 45 counselors, 4 student coordinators, 10 student staff, and 5 professional staff.
